We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patrol Officer to join our team at the City of Waukesha. As a Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and enforcing ordinances and laws within the city.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas on foot, in squad cars, or other police vehicles to maintain law and order and prevent crime.
- Conduct investigations of accidents, complaints, domestic disputes, crimes against persons or property, and missing persons.
- Render first aid at accidents and serve official notices and summons upon individuals issued by the court or other competent authority.
- Make arrests and appear as a witness and give testimony at hearings and court trials when associated with official duties.
- Perform other general duties for the purpose of law enforcement, including writing and filing reports, ticketing for violations, directing traffic, crowd control, and operating police vehicles and equipment.
- Be 21 years of age or older as of hire date.
- Possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
- Be a US Citizen.
- Have no felony convictions.
- Be certified by the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board or have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university, college, or technical school.
The Patrol Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to all types of weather conditions. The ability to perform in psychologically adverse working conditions, establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, administrators, and the public, and sustain considerable physical effort is essential.
