Nephrology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Nephrology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will be responsible for directing and supervising nursing services in accordance with governmental and other regulatory standards. This role will oversee nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patients' health and wellness. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing patient needs and suggesting solutions to patient care problems, in conjunction with the Medical Director and Practice Manager. They will also be responsible for interviewing clinical staff and having input into new hires, orienting, training, evaluating, and ensuring the development and delivery of nursing education to staff. Additionally, they will ensure that an acceptable patient flow is achieved, and that staff are professional and maintain confidentiality at all times. The Nephrology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will also be responsible for tracking and reporting all supplies used weekly in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice)
- Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA)
- Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required
Work Days: M-F
