About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Treatment Specialist to join our team at Management and Training Corporation. As a Treatment Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing essential services to offenders at the Henley State Jail in Dayton, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver Didactic Sessions: Present education and life skills classes to assist offenders with basic education on these topics, promoting positive social skills and behavior.
  2. Maintain a Therapeutic Community: Work closely with correctional staff to create a living environment that is peer-driven, fostering a culture of respect and responsibility.
  3. Supervise Offender Work Functions: Guide and assist offenders in complying with facility rules and regulations, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  4. Monitor Offender Behavior: Report incidents, inappropriate or unusual behaviors to appropriate treatment team staff, and notify personnel of offenders failing to comply with policies and procedures.
  5. Compile Data and Reports: Maintain offender and other records regarding services provided, including workload statistics, and submit reports and related documentation as appropriate.
  6. Develop Individual Progress Summaries: Assist with the development of an Individual Progress Summary for each offender, reflecting evaluation results and comments about the offender's level of participation and quality of completion in the SAFPF/IPTC programs.
  7. Adhere to Licensure and Certification Guidelines: Adhere to the core functions within practicum guidelines of Department of State Health Services LCDC-I licensure and Texas Certification Board of Addictions Professionals CCJP-A certification.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate's degree in the field of psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, or health is preferred; related experience is a plus.
  • Within 90 days of employment, candidate must have a letter of registration as a Counselor Intern (CI) from the Texas Department of State Health Services or a current certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional Applicant Status (CCJP-A) as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
