This role is under the supervision of a designated Supervisor.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are responsible for attending to all dispatched emergencies in the most effective and timely manner, ensuring the highest level of patient care while maintaining a secure and risk-free environment.
The EMT plays a vital role in comprehensive patient management, including assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transportation.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistent and punctual attendance at work.
Deliver exceptional patient care by utilizing extensive knowledge and proper application of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals (PEPP), and established medical protocols.
Evaluate and address any medical situation using appropriate techniques and resources while upholding the highest standards of patient care and professionalism in accordance with current organizational standards.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, adhering to company policies.Ensure the ambulance and equipment are kept clean, organized, and ready for immediate response.
Complete all patient care reports for each call, ensuring accurate and comprehensive patient care documentation and billing information.
Foster a positive and professional working relationship with community members and the EMS system.
Adhere to all policies and procedures.
Maintain current state and National Registry certifications (as required). Attend all Continuing Education (CE) courses.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalentInternational Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certificationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationPediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professional (PEPP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) National Registry or relevant Paramedic LicenseMust be at least 18 years of age
DESIRED QUALIFICATION:
Associate's degree in Emergency Medical TechnologyNational Registry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is regularly required to use hands for dexterity, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry weights ranging from 125 to 200 pounds.Specific vision capabilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and blood/body fluids, requiring the use of a respirator, and exposure to fumes/odors, extended hours, and temperature variations.
