Fresh Cut Clerk Job Description

Job Summary:

Festival Foods is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fresh Cut Clerk to join our team. As a Fresh Cut Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in the fresh cut department, executing the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests, and ensuring all department standards are being met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Management: Assist in ensuring all department standards are being met in the Fresh Cut department, including maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring accurate pricing on products received and sold.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to guests, assist guests with finding items they are looking for throughout the store, and address guest concerns and resolve issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Oversee all sanitation within the Fresh Cut department, maintain food safety logs, and ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Teamwork: Contribute to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed, and work collaboratively with the team to achieve department goals.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates, and possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to use the following equipment: power jack, walk behind lift, WAV, baler, compactor.

Work Environment:

The Fresh Cut Clerk is an hourly position that may be part-time or full-time. The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time, work in a cooler, walk in the store, bend, stoop and kneel regularly, and have full range of upper body motion in order to lift product.
