Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Specialist to join our team at Franklin Electric. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of CMM programs using Calypso software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate coordinate measuring equipment to make complex, precise measurements of materials.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and layouts for product specifications.
  • Interpret inspection results, compare them to established specifications and/or control limits, complete necessary technical reports, and make recommendations for product release or corrective action.
  • Liaise with engineering and other production staff as required to troubleshoot, research, and solve technical problems.
  • Conduct analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, part samples, finished goods, or process samples.
  • Identify and select gaging appropriate to part features and available tolerances.
  • Interface with suppliers to resolve inspection findings.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years programming experience with CALYPSO CAD-based CMM software.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, fixtures, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T.
  • Effectively presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers and/or customers.
  • Works with mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
Education and Experience

Equivalent of four years of high school (required).
