About the Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Fulfillment: Effectively retrieve and arrange orders by item number and quantity according to picking lists, including customer requests, inter-branch transfers, and returns.
  • Shipment Coordination: Develop comprehensive schedules to guarantee all incoming and outgoing shipments comply with requirements and timelines.
  • Staffing Management: Evaluate and provide insights on workforce needs to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Logistics Execution: Prepare, label, and dispatch orders through various carriers, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 99% in stock retrieval and loading, accompanied by necessary documentation.
  • Employee Development: Onboard and train new staff on equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring high performance standards.
  • Team Coordination: Adjust workforce and overtime in response to fluctuating conditions and operational requirements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with other departments to meet shipping and receiving deadlines effectively.
  • Process Optimization: Create detailed process plans, including resource allocation, equipment usage, and spatial organization for each distribution receipt.
  • Operational Enhancement: Propose and implement strategies to improve working conditions and equipment utilization.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address operational challenges, assisting team members in developing solutions.
  • Team Motivation: Design and recommend initiatives to inspire the workforce to achieve objectives.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with fellow supervisors and managers to synchronize activities across various departments.
  • Maintenance Communication: Report equipment issues to maintenance teams promptly.
  • Policy Enforcement: Communicate organizational policies and uphold safety standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and engage in annual inventory assessments.
  • Special Assignments: Participate in special projects as directed by the warehouse management.
  • Inventory Management: Support inventory control processes and procedures.

Education & Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with databases and spreadsheets, along with familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., JDA, Manhattan).

Experience Requirements

  • Distribution Background: 5 to 7 years of experience in distribution is essential.
  • Leadership Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.

Skills & Competencies

  • Physical Capability: Ability to frequently lift over 40 lbs, maneuver around vehicles, and work in various positions.
  • Safety Equipment: OSHA-approved steel-toed safety footwear is required from the start, with additional personal protective equipment as necessary.

Work Environment

  • Conditions: Exposure to varying temperatures, minimal chemical hazards, vibrations, dust, and noise from vehicles.
