Key Responsibilities
Note: The following responsibilities are illustrative and not exhaustive. - Prepares patients for medical procedures, administers prescribed medications, and conducts diagnostic and treatment functions.
- Develops and updates patient care plans, including individual health plans for children aged 0-5.
- Provides direct patient care and accompanies physicians during rounds.
- Reviews patient medical records and communicates healthcare needs to physicians.
- Monitors vital signs, symptoms, and responses to therapies, notifying physicians as necessary.
- Oversees care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and nursing students.
- Performs blood draws, administers oxygen, intravenous therapy, electrocardiograms, and catheter insertions.
- Manages narcotics, medications, and supplies.
- Ensures a clean and sanitary healthcare environment.
- Provides training and information to staff committees on enhancing patient care and direct services.
- Educates patients and families on recommended home healthcare practices.
- Coordinates home or early childhood site care, including service delivery from community health and social service providers.
- Reports health outbreaks and other pertinent information to regulatory health organizations.
- Conducts administrative case management, reviews reports, performs home visits, and evaluates services provided.
- Assists in managing medical clinics and provides outpatient treatment.
- Maintains and prepares patient medical records and reports.
- Conducts physical examinations and health screenings.
- Implements Occupational Medical Management guidelines, reviews reports, and determines service reimbursements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Must be prepared to care for patients with chronic or critical conditions, some requiring 24-hour supervision.
- May need to be on feet for extended periods.
Work Category

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license required.
Emergency Management Responsibilities

- Criminal History Background Check using Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
- Level 1 and Level 2 Background screening (Ch. 435 Florida Statutes)
- Child Abuse, Abandonment and Neglect Record Check using the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- Sex Offender and Sexual Predator record check using the list maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)
- Possess necessary job-related licenses or certifications, which may include a Florida Driver License (Class E) or applicable Commercial Driver License (CDL)
