Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, with a focus on Accounts Payable.
* Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
* Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
* In conjunction with the Controller and Accounts Receivable, secure financial information by completing database backups.
* Support the Controller in documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of the auditing team.

Other Duties:

* Own the AP process from start to completion, about invoices per week.
* Act as backup for payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying the finished payroll.
* Assist in creating, maintaining, and completing audit schedules for the Controller.
* Analyze complex financial reports and records.
* Prepare journal entries and submit to Controller for review.
* Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
* Prepare financial reports.
* Act as backup for student billing and accounts receivable.

Requirements:

* 2 - 3 years of general accounting experience, nonprofit experience is a plus.
* Must have experience with complex account systems such as Blackbaud Nxt, Sage Intacct., or similar.
* Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
