Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Walla Walla University. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the fiscal spending of our capital and operating budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchasing of monographic print resources, media materials, and electronic monograph or subscription items.
  • Implement best-practice methods of searching, confirming, entering, ordering, and tracking materials.
  • Manage the receiving of library materials for main, branch, and specialized libraries.
  • Implement best-practice methods of package-opening, damage-checking, order verification, receiving, gift processing, invoicing, payments, and vendor communications.
  • Manage library capital and operating budgets, including spending reports, budget analyses, fiscal-year reconciliation, and closing.
  • Perform general office procedures, including sorting mail, answering phones, paper/electronic file management, meeting minutes, and email monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any area, with a preference for accounting.
  • Excel skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred.
