The Helen Ross McNabb Center seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Katie Miller & Gateway Academy. As a key member of our educational team, you will be responsible for providing individualized education to students with special needs, developing lesson plans, and reporting progress to the Program Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop curriculum and provide 6.5 hours of approved DOE curriculum each school day
  • Grade and record grades, providing students, therapists, parents, caseworkers with progress reports as stipulated by the Dept. of Education
  • Transport clients to GED practice test and GED tests if necessary
  • Provide special education services for identified clients and complete an initial IEP within the first 30 days and review/evaluate the IEP every 45 days thereafter
Requirements:
  • Possess a teaching certificate in the state of Tennessee
  • Must have a current special education certificate
  • Experience in a clinical setting
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
Estimated Salary Range: $50,112-$57,846 per year
