    • Perform laboratory services, including venipuncture, urinalysis, and knowledge of laboratory reference laboratory services and their requirements
    • Uroflow, Post Void Residual Testing, Intravesical Administration, Urinary Catheterization, and Preparation of urological office procedures
    • Vital signs and medication administration under the supervision of a physician
  • Medical Assistant Competencies
    • Communicate normal test results to patients
    • Handle incoming scanned documents/test results and forward to necessary personnel
    • Ability to cover triage messages in the event of the team lead's unavailability
    • Fill in house pharmacies prescriptions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered/Certified by an accrediting program
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to calculate basic math
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills/knowledge and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Must be able to multi-task, use critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and analyze complex data
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for an extended period
  • Requires frequent bending, squatting, stooping, or stretching
  • Ability to perform proper body mechanics and assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair, or wheelchair
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hands or arms
  • Ability to lift 0-15 pounds without assistance
  • Possess physical agility to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient and family safety needs
Customer Service
  • Professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and institutional departments to achieve optimal urological care delivery
  • Assesses and anticipates patient and family response to urological treatment plans and provides necessary interventions
  • Provides timely communication to patients, families, physicians, and other staff members
  • Recognizes and reports circumstances and situations not achieving patient/family satisfaction
Technology
  • Provide documentation in an electronic environment following established protocols
  • Ensure responsibility of current passwords for required institutions and facilities
  • E-prescribe applicable patients under the direct supervision of a physician and within UROPARTNERS LLC
Safety
  • Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above essential functions
  • Follow standard precautions in the provision of patient care and implement other infection control measures as necessary
  • Utilize equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and institutional policy
  • Reports/documents unexpected occurrences involving patients and others as appropriate
  • Follows facility-specific emergency and disaster preparedness plans
Administrative Competencies
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Maintains attire standards of the departmental dress code
  • Observes and respects the confidentiality of information in regards to patients, doctors, and fellow employees
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Cross-trained to primary tasks of reception, medical records, and scheduling
