Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist II to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical abilities and develop personalized treatment plans to improve their mobility and function.
  • Administer various forms of therapy, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, and hands-on treatment, to alleviate patients' pain and promote recovery.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document and report on patients' progress, providing regular updates to healthcare teams.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy and one year of experience as a physical therapist.
  • Licensure by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain good olfactory sensory function.
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
