About the Position

The Corridor Outreach Manager will be responsible for implementing the organization's work, including coordinating joint educational and promotional activities, providing technical assistance to business owners, and maintaining data systems to track progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for community and economic development to make a meaningful impact in the North 5th Street area of Olney.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of professional experience or education in areas such as business administration, community and economic development, marketing, urban design, journalism, event planning, and communications. A valid driver's license and ability to perform manual labor under various weather conditions are also required.

Responsibilities
  1. Implement the organization's work, including coordinating joint educational and promotional activities.
  2. Provide technical assistance to existing and potential business owners, including referrals to city and state government resources.
  3. Maintain data systems to track progress, including economic monitoring, individual building files, and photo documentation.
  4. Work with local police districts and personnel to report public safety issues and communicate strategies for addressing challenges.
  5. Recruit, manage, and train volunteers to work on projects and committees.
  6. Communicate corridor interests through traditional and social media channels.
  7. Support managing the organization's social media platform, including drafting materials for new media sources.
  8. Lead or provide administrative support for special initiatives.
  9. Enhance relationships with partner organizations and coordinate cooperative efforts with other corridors in the City.
  10. Attend training workshops and conferences throughout the year.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience or education in areas such as business administration, community and economic development, marketing, urban design, journalism, event planning, and communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, Constant Contact, and social media platforms.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to perform manual labor under various weather conditions.
  • Experience in public speaking, group facilitation, public relations, and fundraising is desirable.
  • Fluency in Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, or Spanish language skills is also desirable.
Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $43,000-$47,000 per annum, along with 15 days paid vacation, 10 days paid sick leave, and all federal holidays off.
