Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

About the Role:

Garnet Health is seeking a highly skilled Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Nursing Professional Development team, you will play a critical role in improving the practice of staff and advancing the profession of nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of NPD to improve staff practice.
  • Use the educational design process to bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessment.
  • Actively work to transform processes at micro, meso-, and macro-system levels through inspiration, initiation, adoption, and sustainment of and adaptation to change using project management and improvement processes.
  • Advance the profession by contributing to the professional development of others and supporting life-long learning as individuals develop across practice, professional, and educational settings.
  • Influence the interprofessional practice and learning environments, the NPD specialty, the profession of nursing, and healthcare.
  • Promote the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to advance NPD practice, guide clinical practice, and improve patient care.
  • Support the transition of nurses and other healthcare team members across learning and practice environments, roles, and professional stages.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Master's degree in nursing/education or Post-Master's certification in nursing education preferred.
  • 3 years' experience in nursing professional development in either a hospital or academic setting, or demonstrated expertise in a clinically equivalent role.
  • Current New York State registered nurse license.
  • BLS/ACLS provider status required, BLS/ACLS instructor status required, or achieved within 1 year of date of hire.
  • PALS provider status for practitioners assigned to pediatric areas.
  • ANCC Nursing Professional Development (NPD) certification required, or achieved when ANCC eligibility criteria are met.

Salary Range:

$93,756 - $117,195 per year.
