Certified Peer Support Specialist

Certified Peer Support Specialists play a vital role in the mental health community. At ACMH, Inc., we are seeking dedicated professionals to fill this position as Residential Crisis Counselors.
As a Residential Crisis Counselor, you will work closely with clients who have experienced mental health crises and support them in developing coping strategies for managing behavioral health symptoms.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others achieve recovery and wellness goals. If you have lived experience receiving mental health services and are committed to assisting others in their journey towards recovery, we encourage you to apply.
We offer a competitive salary of $46,092 plus generous benefits for full-time positions. Part-time hourly positions are also available at $22.16 per hour.
Your Responsibilities:
* Provide supportive counseling and promote the development of skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms
* Assist program guests in developing community living skills
* Provide Home and Community Based Services to clients, assisting with training in skills of daily living
* Reports to: Program Director, Residential Crisis Support
Qualifications:
* Lived experience receiving mental health services
* High School diploma or G.E.D.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English
* Basic computer and data entry skills
* Must be a Certified Peer Specialist with New York State (New York Certified Peer Specialist/NYCPS)
