Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Kemp Quarries. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our crushing and mobile equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure safe operation.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues with mobile equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair crushing and mobile equipment, including heavy machinery and vehicles.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding, brazing, and cutting tasks as required to support equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the shop team to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification or experience in heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in the construction or public works industry.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and interpret technical documentation, and proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift heavy equipment, and work in various weather conditions.
