Job Title: Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Tacachale in Gainesville, Florida. As a Senior LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Senior Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing practical nursing services to developmentally disabled individuals, working under the direction and general supervision of a registered nurse. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care, promoting independence, and supporting the overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and treatments as per nursing policy and procedure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report physical and behavioral responses to medication and treatment.
  • Use the nursing process for ongoing care of individuals as needed, including intervention, observation, referral, and crisis management.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Accompany individuals to clinic and off-center appointments as assigned.
  • Provide emergency nursing services within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Assist registered nurses and licensed independent practitioners in clinics, diagnostic tests, and physical examinations.
Requirements:
  • A valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Corrective lenses are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.
  • Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
  • Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.
  • Must maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Direct Care In-Service.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse license.
