Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Specialist to join our team at Prisma Health. As an EP Specialist, you will play a critical role in facilitating electrophysiology procedures, providing direct and indirect patient care, and assisting physicians with procedures in scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accomplish monitoring duties, including understanding mechanics of arrhythmias, mapping techniques for ablation of arrhythmias, and monitoring patient's electrocardiogram and reporting rhythm disturbances to physician.
  • Accomplish scrub duties, including practicing sterile techniques, ensuring tasks are accomplished efficiently and accurately, and assisting and anticipating needs of physician.
  • Prepare procedure room using infection control guidelines, ensure radiation protection techniques are followed, and perform accurate set-up of EP equipment.
  • Assist with recovery duties, including obtaining hemostasis as needed, safely returning patients to room or nursing unit after procedure when necessary, and ensuring that patient is comfortable.
  • Order and restock supplies as needed, retrieve supplies from Central Supply and Material Services as needed, and ensure instruments are cleaned and prepared for Central Supply per department Policy and Infection Control.
  • Ensure appropriate surveillance of assigned patients, identify barriers related to specific care issues, and seek assistance as appropriate, thereby maintaining quality and patient safety.
  • Maintain professional licensure and take personal accountability for maintaining competency through education and professional activities.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Health Sciences program.
  • 1 year Cath Lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • R-ARRT (Radiology registry with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist).
  • SCRQSA registered.
  • BLS and ACLS.
  • RCIS or RCES preferred.
  • Arrhythmia Competency.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Data Entry Skills.
  • Patient Equipment.
