Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our commissioning team, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for various utility substation protection, control, and power circuits. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and that our projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for utility substation protection, control, and power circuits
  • Review wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents to ensure compliance with TRC's and client's requirements
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem analysis associated with protection and control systems and utility substation equipment
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare detailed daily, weekly, and project completion reports and documentation
  • Develop project-specific testing and commissioning plans, energization plans, and other assigned project-specific documentation
  • Identify risks and associated mitigation techniques on utility systems and equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical or Power Systems preferred) from an accredited school or university
  • 10+ years of related experience with testing and commissioning services (Electric Utility experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction and manufacturer's drawings and specifications, as well as schematic diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical protection systems, including relay communication, and basic understanding of AC and DC schematics, wiring, and drawings
  • Prior professional experience in medium and high voltage substation and power plant equipment, with the ability to perform basic apparatus testing and interpret test results with supervision
