Radiologic Technologist

As a Radiologic Technologist at Advocate Aurora Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our radiology department as a Radiologic Technologist.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine the appropriate radiological technique and position for patients using immobilization and support devices.
• Operate radiology equipment safely and effectively.
• Position patients, adjust equipment, secure and immobilize support devices as needed to perform procedures.
• Determine the appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality films for radiologists.
• Secure patient history regarding the reason for prescribed tests.
• Adhere to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
• Ensure accuracy of examinations performed and requisitions.
• Familiar with MSDS information pertaining to chemicals used in the department.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Perform clerical duties such as maintaining adequate patient records, daily statistics, answering telephones, scheduling examinations, and giving instructions to patients for examinations to provide smooth and continuous department services.
• Communicate with patients appropriately and provide excellent care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use universal precautions in daily performance of procedures.
• Maintain compliance with established safety standards to protect patients and staff at all times.
• Maintain exposure badges.
• Maintain supplies and cleanliness for assigned rooms on a daily basis.
• Administer CPR as necessary.
• Coordinate quality control tasks.
• Prepare contrast media as necessary following department standards and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Perform daily sensitometry of processors; assist in performance of annual inspections.
• Check film quality and ensure proper and correct labeling is provided.
Requirements:
• IDNS license.
• Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
• Knowledge of Health Information System.
• Basic knowledge of radiology equipment.
• CPR certification.
• Licensed by IDNS.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registered (ARRT).
Working Conditions:
• Ability to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high-quality patient care.
• High degree of technical skills.
• Must be able to function with minimal assistance in performing job activities.
• Ability to deal with extremely ill patients.
• Ability to lift and/or move patients.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions, in difficult situations.
• May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
• Ability to work during site hours of operation.
Pay and Benefits:
• Competitive pay range: $42.30.
