The Consumer Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the Credit Analysts and Credit Officers, ensuring they meet and exceed industry benchmarks in efficiency, service quality, and profitability.
This leadership role focuses on achieving strategic goals, managing annual budget forecasts, and fulfilling directives from executive leadership and the board.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume overall accountability for the success of the consumer lending portfolio, targeting growth in loans, net interest margin, profitability, portfolio diversity, and managing delinquency rates.
- Analyze and generate daily and monthly loan performance reports to ensure team objectives are met, providing insights to senior management.
- Maintain and update all consumer credit policies, guidelines, and procedures to comply with federal and state regulations, ensuring staff training and adherence.
- Oversee department personnel, including scheduling, evaluating performance, recruiting, and managing disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Develop and enforce accountability standards for team members.
- Lead promotional initiatives to enhance the consumer lending portfolio, collaborating with marketing to ensure accurate and compliant advertising materials.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline. Relevant supervisory experience may substitute for formal education.
- A minimum of 5 years in consumer lending, including experience in loan analysis, deal restructuring, and underwriting.
- At least 3 years of experience in consumer loan underwriting.
- 3 years of team management experience with a focus on self-directed performance.
- A strong grasp of risk-based underwriting and associated practices.
- Experience with subprime lending.
This position operates within a standard work schedule, Monday through Friday, and primarily at the corporate office.
