Position Overview:

At UnityPoint Health, we are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Cardiac Monitoring Specialist. This full-time role operates on a night shift schedule, specifically from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Monitoring: Vigilantly observe and assess patient heart rhythms, ensuring timely and accurate interpretation of data.
  • Communication: Effectively relay any significant changes in heart rhythms or capnography to the healthcare provider.
  • Telemetry Management: Maintain and track telemetry devices, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly.
  • Patient Care: Perform 12-lead EKGs as required and assist with the positioning of telemetry monitors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a certified nursing assistant in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Skills: Proficient in basic computer operations and documentation; strong communication skills; ability to engage effectively with diverse patient populations.

  • Must complete annual mandatory education and training.
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Proactive involvement in unit improvements and quality initiatives is encouraged.
