Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customer service initiatives within the department and among staff
- Play a pivotal role in boosting associate morale and retention, while minimizing turnover
- Manage departmental personnel
- Handle recruitment, disciplinary measures, and separations
- Supervise staff evaluations, scheduling, and educational development
- Collaborate on budget planning and expense oversight
- Ensure proper processing, billing, and quality assurance of laboratory tests
- Monitor quality improvement and performance management
- Guarantee compliance with regulatory agencies
- Maintain precise statistics and ensure equipment is operational
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
- Provide technical guidance and perform testing as necessary
- Represent the laboratory in hospital committees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
- 3-5 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory settings with moderate to high complexity testing
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Certification as MLS, MLT, or MT from accredited organizations
- Active certification is required if it has an expiration date
