Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the physical therapy department.
Responsibilities- Administer therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care, ensuring patients receive the best possible treatment.
- Instruct and motivate patients to learn and improve functional activities, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence.
- Observe patients during treatments, assess their responses, and compile data on their progress, reporting updates to physical therapists and physicians as needed.
- Fit patients for, adjust, and train them in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Perform clerical duties, including documentation and communication with the interdisciplinary team, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Promote positive and professional customer service, working collaboratively with patients, families, and hospital personnel to meet their needs.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance departmental operations and complete necessary documentation, including patient care charting and charge entry.
- Utilize information management systems to support departmental and hospital goals, adhering to hospital and information management guidelines.
- Associate's degree from an approved program for Physical Therapist Assistants.
- Current Texas State licensure (PTA) or eligibility for licensure.
- CPR/BLS certification - American Heart.
