Key Responsibilities:

Youth Care Coordinator Duties:

  • Engage in the therapeutic environment by facilitating skill development through daily interactions, demonstrating appropriate behaviors, and promoting the application of skills through a structured reward system.
  • Implement evidence-based practices tailored for youth facing mental health, substance use, and life challenges, utilizing innovative models such as Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and culturally relevant approaches.
  • Co-lead therapeutic groups focusing on essential life skills, relationship building, and cultural identity.
  • Plan, oversee, and participate in various activities for youth, both on-site and in the community, including clubs, educational outings, and recreational events.
  • Support educational engagement by acting as a learning facilitator in both classroom settings and community environments.
  • Ensure safety and confidentiality for youth and families with complex needs.

Lead Coordinator Duties:

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Youth Care Coordinators.
  • Supervise staff during shifts to ensure effective programming and treatment delivery.
  • Collaborate with management to conduct staff evaluations and provide coaching.
  • Facilitate training for new staff members in partnership with program leadership.
  • Lead team meetings and participate in management discussions.
  • Offer shift coverage as necessary to maintain staffing levels.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Complete necessary reports and logs in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with leadership to enhance programming and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and state regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings.
  • Provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Fulfill other job-related tasks as necessary.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time or part-time availability.
  • Flexible hours, including a rotation of morning and evening shifts.
  • Weekend and holiday shifts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth facing mental health challenges.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively engage with youth aged 13-17.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Meet all employment prerequisites, including background checks.

Skills and Attributes:

Strong understanding of youth development principles; ability to maintain composure in challenging situations; effective communication skills; ability to follow directives; crisis response capabilities; proficiency in basic computer tasks; efficient time management; and multitasking abilities.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a state-licensed residential care facility, with responsibilities extending to community settings. Local travel may be required to fulfill job duties.
