PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Distribution Manager. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electricity to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of distribution and transmission systems to meet business objectives.
- Oversee and monitor departmental operations and employee activity to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in activities related to the maintenance, switching, and control of distribution and transmission systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote safety in the workplace and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in the control of distribution and transmission systems to ensure reliable and efficient service to customers.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement business objectives, strategies, and plans to support the company's strategic goals.
- Search for methods to efficiently perform the job and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to implement action plans for achieving objectives and oversee daily operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate expectations, coach employees, and work collaboratively with other departments.
- Leadership and teamwork skills to develop and promote cooperative working relationships within and among departments.
- Desire to move into a leadership position with increased responsibility.
- Ability to conduct business and work with employees while understanding that information acquired in this position is confidential and must be treated as such in all communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous utility experience.
- Ability to demonstrate management, administrative, supervisory, and leadership skills.
- Customer service skills, including the ability to influence customers and employees' actions toward customer requirements and toward customer service guarantees.
- Experience working in a related field providing direct support to substation operations.
- Knowledge of safety issues, labor agreements, accident prevention manuals, code requirements, personnel procedures, budgeting, and general company policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of strategic plan and objectives for areas, day-to-day operations of specific areas, company policies, procedures, and practices, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- High proficiency with all standard computer applications.
