About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Digital Products and Services team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care through the effective use of technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Clinical Practice Workflow Analysis: Identify and address clinical practice workflow and process issues, providing leadership and guidance to define system and process requirements that optimize system performance and technology utilization by clinical practitioners.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate current EMR functionality and recommend innovative ideas, processes, or procedures for enhancements, additions, or modifications to improve existing processes or technology.
  • Provide Expertise and Support: Serve as a resource for daily operations, addressing issues related to the electronic health record or associated technologies, and support new technology implementation or upgrades, providing onsite support and guidance to enhance end-user adoption.
  • Develop and Teach Training Curriculum: Assist in creating training programs and teach as applicable to promote increasing adoption of technology, efficient care flows, and clinical practice utilizing best practice use of the electronic medical record and associated technologies.
  • Support Complex System Analysis and Regulatory Surveys: Assist with complex systemic analysis reviews and regulatory surveys, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop key performance indicators and analyze data around complex processes, procedures, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement and optimize patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required; 4-year/Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical healthcare experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Healthcare licensure required (RN, LPN, RT, PT, etc.), required; obtain Epic Clinical Informatics Certification within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to lead meetings, prioritize multiple responsibilities, conflict resolution skills, demonstrates competency in change readiness for the organization, being flexible as priorities change, strong organizational skills, and effective decision-making skills.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Travel up to 25% in NC and SC.
