Job Summary:

  • Perform light and heavy preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial freight handling equipment and truck equipment.
  • Drive company trucks and tow trailers as required.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs of truck equipment as directed.
  • Pick up and deliver freight handling equipment to and from terminals and the shop.
  • Operate various hand and power tools.
  • Perform minor welding and cutting tasks.
  • Properly dispose of all fluids used in maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete work orders for all work performed.
  • Communicate effectively via cell phone and text messaging.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, trucks, and shop areas in good condition.

Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance is required.
  • Vocational or technical training, or certification, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required; a current CDL license with air brake certification is preferred, and a willingness to acquire a CDL if not already held.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
