Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication and Maintenance: Fabricate, maintain, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures to ensure optimal production efficiency.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and perform preventative die maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure quality standards.
  • Machine Operation: Setup, operate, and maintain machine tools to cut, drill, mill, bore, and grind or otherwise shape work pieces to prescribed specifications.
  • Quality Control: Disassemble dies to verify dimensions, set clearances, and ensure accuracy using measuring instruments.
  • Repair and Reassembly: Remove defective components, repair, and reassemble parts using hand tools, and create drawings of parts to be fabricated.
  • Precision Machining: Demonstrate precision machining skills to ensure the accuracy and quality of components.
  • Engineering Changes: Implement engineering changes on tools and dies to improve production efficiency.
  • Welding: Perform GTAW (TIG) welding as required.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to optimize tooling designs and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks to meet specified standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold safety and environmental regulations and maintain a commitment to quality in all tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in tool and die making.
  • Experience: Proven experience in tool and die making within a manufacturing setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, and proficiency with computer-aided (CAD) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with building and repairing progressive dies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, dedication to safety, and adherence to quality standards.
