Civil Project Manager Job Description

Bowman Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Manager to join our team in Nashville Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and staying within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project development, including finalizing project scope, preparing bid summaries, and preparing project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Perform day-to-day project management on multiple projects to meet time and budget milestones.
  • Prepare and direct preparation of designs, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports for projects.
  • Review job cost sheets and prepare monthly billings, ensuring assigned projects stay within budget allocation.
  • Monitor and manage work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts.
  • Maintain healthy client relationships and possess solid operational insight for driving projects and executing deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on projects.
  • Review project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors that may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
  • Registered Professional in the field of expertise strongly preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in civil engineering, including a minimum of three years of assistant project management experience.
  • Land development engineering experience and skills, including residential and commercial developments.
  • Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a primarily indoor professional office environment, with occasional outdoor work and exposure to varying temperatures, excessive noise, and potential hazards.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of urgency, effective communication skills, and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
