Job Description

North Florida Surgeons is seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding Auditor to join our team. As a Medical Coding Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our medical coding practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct retrospective quality reviews of physicians, mid-levels, and coders to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Work with the Coding and Compliance Manager to identify trends and areas for improvement in our coding practices.
  • Prepare reports for management review and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and deliver education materials to staff on coding updates, documentation, and coding guidelines.
  • Assist the Coding and Compliance Manager in the development of coding policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • CPC or CCS-P certification required.
  • Must obtain the CPMA credential within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma required.

Necessary Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Office applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and flexible with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and meet productivity levels.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
