Position Overview: Specialist in Pathogenic Cell Sorting

The Specialist in Pathogenic Cell Sorting will be responsible for conducting hazard evaluations and managing biohazardous cell sorting within the Penn Cytomics and Cell Sorting Shared Resource Laboratory. This role focuses on pathogenic cell sorting, establishing and executing best practices for biohazardous sorting, and aiding in the development of new assays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform biohazardous materials sorting training and assist in basic sorter operation training.
  • Develop and implement best practices for safe and effective cell sorting.
  • Contribute to the advancement of new assay methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, along with over 5 years of experience in cell sorting. ASCP Specialist in Cytometry accreditation is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in operating cell sorters, flow cytometers, and adhering to biosafety protocols is essential. Multilingual skills, particularly in Mandarin, are highly regarded.

Compensation: Annual salary range of $51,000 to $72,795.24
