Job Title: Administrative Coordinator - Gastroenterology

Austin Gastroenterology is a thriving medical practice with a rich history of delivering exceptional patient care in the greater Austin area. With over 35 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers, we operate from 17 locations, providing comprehensive gastroenterology services to our patients.

We are currently seeking an experienced Appointment Scheduler to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity that will allow you to utilize your administrative skills to support our busy office environment.

Main Job Functions:
  • Assist with high call volume by effectively handling incoming phone calls and triaging issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient visit notes and update relevant information in our electronic medical record system.
  • Identify and address patient concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support patient registration and financial transactions, ensuring seamless interactions with our patients.
  • Collect and verify patient and insurance information to facilitate efficient billing and payment processes.
  • File documents in the appropriate sections of patient charts within our electronic medical record system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of our office.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year's experience in a related field, preferably in healthcare, is preferred.
  • Performance Requirements:
    • Familiarity with computer programs and applications, including Microsoft Office.
    • Basic arithmetic skills to make calculations, balance figures, and reconcile changes accurately.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed when addressing issues or dealing with upset patients.
    • Skill in operating office equipment, such as printers and scanners.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems, including Microsoft Excel, email, and internet platforms.
    • Flexibility to respond to changing demands and prioritize tasks effectively.
