Boeing Global Services is seeking a Lead Avionics Technician for F-18 systems, ready to work either 1st or 2nd shift.

This role is anticipated to be 100% onsite. The selected individual will be required to work onsite.

Key Responsibilities:


Supervise the assembly, disassembly, and modification of systems by managing the change, removal, replacement, or enhancement of aerospace vehicle components to rectify failures or implement modifications.

Oversee assembly, disassembly, or overhaul processes.

Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.


Direct the troubleshooting of intricate hydraulic, avionics, and electrical systems to identify mechanical, avionics, or electrical faults and repair defective components.

Oversee validation and verification testing of systems and components.


Document procedures and established processes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection outcomes).

Inspect components and confirm repairs meet flight worthiness criteria.

Lead and mentor team members in tasks related to the safe handling of aerospace vehicles.

Provide training and guidance to others.

Operate with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills:
Able to perform connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.

Understanding of routing instructions and management of harnesses.


Conduct activities related to sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and securing wire harnesses and cables according to standard procedures.

Ability to troubleshoot avionics and electrical issues.


Demonstrates proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to execute electrical modifications/repairs as well as general avionics repairs.

Experienced in utilizing tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modifications and repairs of electrical wiring.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance

Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience

Willingness to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Minimum of 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fighter electrical modifications

Experience in fighter avionics modifications

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (humidity/high temperatures) with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g.,

High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate+5 years of related work, Bachelor+2 years of related work, etc.)
