Quality Engineer Role:
OVERVIEW:
Your responsibilities will include the preparation and upkeep of essential documentation specific to customer parts.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Perform PFMEA analysis to assess Risk Priority Numbers for dimensional specifications based on customer drawings.
- Create Control Plans to evaluate quality performance in machining processes using PFMEA.
- Draft measuring work instructions.
- Conduct statistical assessments of machining operations to determine Cpk or Ppk as necessary.
- Document dimensional, metallurgical, and cleanliness studies, along with other specific analyses as required by clients.
- Specify and source quotes for necessary gauging based on the Control Plan.
- Execute Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility studies.
- Number customer print dimensions and specifications for Production Part Approval Process results.
- Upload required documentation to customer web portals to maintain production part status.
- Prepare Quality Alerts for machining or inspection processes in case of quality issues.
- Implement corrective actions, both customer-driven and internal, when quality issues arise.
- Conduct site visits to customer locations as needed in response to quality concerns.
- Participate in Material Review Board activities for nonconforming materials within the manufacturing facility.
- Notify production management, machine operators, and supervisors about quality issues identified during machining operations.
- Additionally, perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the scope of your responsibilities.
- Associate's degree in a technical field.
- Experience in measuring machined metal components.
- At least 2 years of experience addressing customer-specific engineering requirements.
- A minimum of 2 years in quality engineering roles.
- Prior experience with PFMEA analysis.
