The Manufacturing Assembly Technician will be responsible for the assembly of various manufactured goods and their packaging in accordance with established specifications. This role adheres to the quality management system's designated work instructions and procedures to guarantee that high-quality products are produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble machinery, fabricated metal components, electrical devices, appliances, and more following detailed instructions.
- Interpret work orders and special guidelines for challenging and precise assembly tasks.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation to build products to specified standards.
- Provide suggestions for manufacturing improvements to enhance cost efficiency.
- Operate various machines and hand tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain logs, records, and reports related to production, machine upkeep, and product discrepancies.
- Ensure equipment and conveyors are maintained and perform basic repairs as necessary.
- Conduct inventory checks of tools, parts, and supplies; communicate with materials handlers when additional supplies are required.
- Regularly inspect products as per company policy to ensure quality and uniformity; address any identified issues and notify supervisors.
- Recognize non-conforming parts and salvage damaged items that may still meet tolerances.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and changing time requirements.
- Understand and interpret design data (Drawings, Bills of Material, etc.).
- Make informed decisions regarding product acceptance based on documentation and company standards.
- Effective communication skills in both small and large group settings.
- Collaborate with team members across all levels to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve challenges.
- Work closely with shop floor supervision and fellow employees.
- Detail-oriented with a consistent approach to tasks.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Maintain necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications as required.
- Foster positive relationships with peers and maintain a constructive attitude.
- Dispose of scrap or waste materials in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
