Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to our cloud and Big Data projects within the Data Warehousing and Data Analytics domains. As a key member of our team, you will develop data-driven solutions with cloud-based technologies to meet evolving business needs, deliver impactful, scalable, and high-performing data solutions for our customers, and collaborate with larger development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive analysis to understand and meet all technical specifications and business requirements, according to established designs.
  • Develop Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Test Cases to test cloud-based solutions.
  • Analyze issues identified during the testing phase and propose new solutions to solve these issues.
  • Provide senior-level technical consulting support with peers and other data engineers during the design, development, and testing stages for highly complex and critical data projects.
  • Migrate data from Teradata, Netezza, and similar on-prem Big Data platforms to cloud-based platforms like BigQuery, SQL, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Approximately 8+ years of experience with proven experience with data platforms and Big Data engineering functions.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and quickly learning skills to adapt to GCP's cloud-native SQL (i.e., BigQuery).
  • Hands-on experience with Python and Jupyter Notebooks experience as a plus.
  • Hands-on and deep experience working with Google Data Products (i.e., BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, etc.).
  • Willingness to continuously learn and share learnings with others.
  • Capability to collaborate with stakeholders and project leaders to understand requirements, deliverables, and set expectations on tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and IT Teams to understand requirements and quickly translate them into workable solutions.
  • Experience working in an Agile and collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and professional speaking skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and high standards.
Travel Expectation

Up to 10% travel is expected for this role.
