Pharmacist in Charge

At Emmaus Drug Store, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee the daily operations of our pharmacy department and ensure the safe and effective use of medications. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
• Medication Management: Oversee the accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while ensuring the quality of compounding and labeling processes.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management, providing drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and monitor patient outcomes, making recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed.
• Leadership and Teamwork: Participate in medical activities, maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas, and provide clinical support in acute care settings.

• Experience: At least 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Licensure: Active pharmacy license in the state of Connecticut.
• Certifications: Immunization certification through an accredited organization.
• Education: Bachelor of science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree.

• Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish.
• Specialty Pharmacy Experience: Experience working in a specialty pharmacy.
• Compounding Expertise: Experience with compounding medication.
• Software Familiarity: Familiarity with PrimeRX/Micro Merchant pharmacy software and BestRX pharmacy software.

• Work Schedule: 8-hour shift, day shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
• Location: Emmaus Drug Store, Bristol, CT.
