Job Title: Assistant Director of Security Systems

Case Western Reserve University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Security Systems to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the university's critical protective systems, including security systems, fire systems, CCTV, fire extinguishers, fixed suppression systems, communications equipment, radios, emergency phone service, and outdoor emergency notification system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of all protective systems to ensure compliance with applicable fire and security system codes.
  • Manage the direct installation and service maintenance of access control and security systems, including planning, designing, and coordinating with vendors for the installation of new security systems.
  • Act as primary contact for security, access control, and CCTV vendors relative to bids, walk-throughs, and on-site supervision of projects.
  • Involved in initial discussions of all remodeling, renovation, and construction projects to assess impact on security systems.
  • Manage three security technicians and serve as the Director of Security Systems in their absence.
  • Provide administration and overall maintenance of the body-worn camera program, including assigning and maintaining inventory of equipment, assisting end-users with troubleshooting technical issues, and conducting departmental training programs.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology staff regarding security system-related issues and maintain accurate and detailed service and inspection data through entry to a computerized work order management system.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical knowledge of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and fire systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team of security technicians.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of service and inspection data.
