Aircraft Installation Specialist
Job Summary
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Aircraft Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the installation of aircraft parts and components, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex aircraft installations, repairs, and rework, requiring a thorough understanding of aircraft systems and components.
- Manage parts and disposition of parts in assigned work stations, using proper documentation and control.
- Instruct and assist other team members in the interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
- Coordinate work with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and quality of installations.
- Responsible for quality and efficiency of own installations, making repairs as needed to ensure conformity.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment to successfully complete component installation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems.
- Update and sign required logs and records.
- May be required to plan and organize workloads and resource requirements.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's FOD and 5S programs and complying with all safety regulations.
- Demonstrate Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review.
- Maintain and use all logs and records, such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.
- Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to use mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
- Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices, demonstrated ability to use within specified tolerance.
- Production Quality training.
- Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.
- Requires ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
- Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, tools, fixtures, and jigs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas and lift up to 50 lbs.
