Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wheelchair Assistant to join our team at Bags Inc. As a key member of our airport operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe transportation of passengers with mobility needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to passengers with mobility impairments, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their journey.
  • Operate wheelchairs safely and efficiently, navigating airport facilities with ease.
  • Assist passengers with luggage, ensuring it is safely transported to and from their vehicles, taxi stands, parking shuttle stations, and rental car stations.
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude, always being attentive to each passenger's individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, airline staff, and airport authorities to ensure seamless operations.
  • Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports, adhering to airport security protocols.
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders and maintain a professional working relationship with colleagues, supervisors, and airport authorities.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be able to clear a background and drug screen.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300lbs up and down inclines throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift passengers from the wheelchair to the seat on the plane.
  • Experience in customer service preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Complete all required training, including airport compliance.
  • Able to obtain an airport badge.
