Job Summary

Families Forward, a member of The Fedcap Group, is seeking a mission-driven individual to become an Education and Training Instructor. This role is an integral component of the workforce development model at our opportunity center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and instruction to individuals seeking opportunities for employment.
  • Deliver exemplary content-driven curriculum to prepare program participants for employment and fully engage in the requirements of their Family Contract Amendment.
  • Establish trust and rapport with program participants to effectively engage them.
  • Facilitate life skills, wellness workshops, and sector/employer-based training.
  • Deliver monthly professional development training for staff on standard training topics.
  • Coordinate presenters from other community agencies to discuss topics pertinent to program participants.
  • Consult with vocational evaluation and employment services staff regarding curriculum development and participant training needs.
  • Plan and develop materials needed for each class using handouts, workbooks, web-based resources, and other teaching tools.
  • Give daily homework assignments to participants attending classes and track performance/progress.
  • Complete weekly case notes for each class participant highlighting topics reviewed, participation, progress towards job readiness, and next steps.
  • Work with Placement Specialists to organize hiring fairs, industry panels, and practice interview sessions with area employers.
  • Oversee activities and offerings for participants who are conducting job search activities in the Business Networking Center.
  • Represent Fedcap and Families Forward with all stakeholders and in the community in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 3-5 years' experience working with individuals seeking opportunities for employment preferred.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
