About the RoleThe Clinical Instructor will be responsible for implementing the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession. This includes planning clinical experiences, providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students, and evaluating student performance based on course objectives.
Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes through clinical teaching and service
- Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students
- Evaluate student performance based on course objectives
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base and skill competency
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner
- May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator
- Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns
- Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- Unencumbered professional nursing license
- At least two years professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
- Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care
