Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Shannon Health, you will provide high-quality diagnostic medical sonography services that meet the highest clinical standards. Your expertise will be essential in producing and recording images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound exams, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record high-quality images, following physician directives and adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Process results and complete documentation for interpretation by physicians, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
Education and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field. A graduate degree from an accredited program is required, and certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is highly preferred.

Competencies and Certifications

You will be expected to demonstrate competency in one major specialty area recognized by the ARDMS, ARRT, or other accrediting bodies. This may include General, OB/GYN, Vascular, or Breast imaging. Additionally, you will need to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of starting the position and maintain a current, valid Texas driver's license.
