Job Summary:

The Surgical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care in the operating room, including preparing patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients during procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, managing supplies and equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including administering anesthesia and monitoring vital signs
  • Provide direct patient care during procedures, including positioning patients and maintaining a safe environment
  • Manage supplies and equipment, including restocking and maintaining inventory
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Current RN license in Alaska
  • Experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
