Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our analytical instruments, maintaining compliance with cGMP and safety procedures, and providing technical support to our laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and implement master Preventive Maintenance/Calibration schedules
  • Plan, execute, and review instrument calibration/qualification activities
  • Develop and review instrument operation, maintenance, and calibration procedures
  • Initiate change controls for new and existing instruments and procedures
  • Document raw data, observations, and results in notebooks or applicable documents
  • Notify supervisors and management of anomalous or out-of-control results
  • Adhere to cGMP and safety procedures
  • Review and report calibration/qualification documents
  • Log and attend instrument repair requests
  • Schedule visits for outside contractors for preventive maintenance or repair
  • Place 'out of service' tags on instruments due for calibration or repair
  • Conduct primary investigations under direct guidance from management
  • Ensure adequate labeling of instruments and calibration status
  • Order and maintain spare parts for major instruments
Work Environment:

Our laboratory is a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety. You will be working in a manufacturing/production/laboratory setting with exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise, fumes, odors, gases, dust, and hazards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, use of hands, and reaching
  • Occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
Travel Estimate:

Up to 5% of work time may involve travel

Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum BS or equivalent degree in Chemistry or related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV, and practice
  • Practical problem-solving skills for instrumentation troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of ICH and FDA regulatory guidance
  • Familiarity with cGMP/GLP practices for analytical laboratories and EHS/OSHA safety regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Pharmaceutical Industry Laboratory experience
