Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Newport News Behavioral Health Center. The LPN will be responsible for implementing nursing care for assigned residents, working under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON).

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of adolescent psychiatric care and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring mental alertness and critical thinking skills. Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned residents
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct care to residents, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign checks
  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident well-being and respond to any concerns
  • Document resident progress and treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Valid license to practice as an LPN in the state of Virginia
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one year experience in an adolescent psychiatric or general psychiatric setting
