Job Summary

Ascension is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing orders and maintaining inventory for the pharmacy department, and preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds. Additionally, the candidate will repack bulk medications, receive and store incoming supplies, and serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient, and health professionals by providing information.

Responsibilities

* Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist prior to receiving certification.
* Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
* Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
* Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
* Repack bulk medications.
* Receive and store incoming supplies.
* Triage incoming calls and serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient, and health professionals by providing information.

Requirements

* Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
* High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
