Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating detailed technical activities involved with the management, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, chemicals, and overseeing air and water quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site investigations and prepare reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs for employees on various EHS topics, including emergency response, hazardous material handling, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with the hazardous waste program, including collection, storage, disposal, and documentation, in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Serve as the liaison with regulatory agencies for inspections, permits, and reporting requirements related to environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Develop and implement wellness programs that promote employee health and reduce work-related illnesses and injuries.
  • Manage the Safety Committee and ensure the auditing process is fully implemented with actions and recordkeeping.
  • Oversee the 5s Auditing program for the entire facility, ensuring data is correctly stored and actions are completed.
  • Provide solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification desired to indicate proficiency and competency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic environment.
  • Organized and efficient in approaching tasks.
  • Strong team player, with a strong work ethic.
Desired Characteristics
  • GSP or ASP certification desired.
